F1 extends Monaco Grand Prix agreement to 2031 and shifts date to June
Formula 1 has extended its agreement with the Automobile Club of Monaco to keep the Monaco Grand Prix on the calendar through 2031. This extension highlights the race's significance in F1, despite recent criticisms about limited overtaking opportunities. Starting in 2026, the Monaco Grand Prix will move from its traditional late May date to the first full weekend in June. This change aims to improve logistics and reduce the environmental impact of the racing calendar. F1 President Stefano Domenicali expressed satisfaction with the extension and the new scheduling. The shift may allow fans to attend both the Monaco Grand Prix and the Indianapolis 500, enhancing the motorsport experience.
