Fadnavis confirms action against journalist Prashant Koratkar

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis addressed concerns on Saturday regarding journalist Prashant Koratkar. Koratkar has been accused of making disrespectful comments about Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and his son, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. The remarks were allegedly made during a phone call with a historian. Fadnavis denied claims that the police are protecting Koratkar, who is based in Nagpur. He assured reporters that police are actively searching for him, whether he is in Dubai or another location. The chief minister emphasized that action will be taken against Koratkar. Rumors have circulated that Koratkar fled to Dubai to avoid arrest, fueled by recent photos of him appearing online from abroad. He was charged on February 26 after allegedly threatening a Kolhapur historian named Indrajeet Sawant and making offensive remarks about the historical figures. Kolhapur police registered a case against Koratkar under Indian laws for inciting hatred and other offenses. On March 18, a court in Kolhapur denied his request for anticipatory bail, leaving him vulnerable to arrest.
