Faith Nisperos leads Akari to PVL semifinals
Faith Nisperos played a key role in helping the Akari Chargers reach the semifinals of the 2024-25 PVL All-Filipino Conference. In a tense five-set match against the Galeries Tower High Risers, she scored 15 points and made 13 digs. This victory marked Akari's second consecutive semifinal appearance. Nisperos stepped up after teammate Ivy Lacsina had a quiet game with only eight points. She expressed her confidence in the team's ability to adapt and fill in gaps when needed. “Everyone knows their role,” she said after making the game-clinching play. The 25-year-old athlete, who previously missed the finals due to her Alas Pilipinas commitments, felt fulfilled to help her team advance this time. The Chargers will now enter a round-robin semifinals with Choco Mucho, with the goal of reaching the finals. Nisperos also expressed concern for Fifi Sharma, who injured her ankle during the match. She hopes Sharma recovers quickly so they can compete together in the semifinals. With more time to prepare, the Chargers are focused on taking it one game at a time as they aim for their bigger goal.
