Fake doctors operating in Chengicherla hospitals exposed
Officials from the Telangana Medical Council (TGMC) found serious issues during an inspection of hospitals and clinics in the Chengicherla area of Uppal. They discovered unqualified people treating patients and registered doctors not following regulations. At Bhavishya Well Wishers Hospital, Dr. Gautami, who registered the hospital in June 2023, had left to study at Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences. In her absence, hospital administrator A. Ramesh began acting as a doctor, treating patients without any qualified staff. The TGMC has filed a case against Ramesh and plans to issue a show-cause notice to Dr. Gautami for not cancelling her hospital registration while studying, which is against the rules. Investigators also found another fraudulent practitioner, Gunapati Sai Babu, at SLNS First Aid Centre. He was illegally giving antibiotics and steroid injections and conducting unauthorized lab tests. A case against him has been filed under the National Medical Commission Act. Additionally, Dr. G. Anil Kumar, who holds an MBBS degree and runs Pulse Health Clinic, was practicing without the correct permissions from the DMHO. He reportedly obstructed the inspection. The TGMC will issue a reprimand to Dr. Anil Kumar and has referred the situation to the DMHO for further action.
