Falcons sign returner Jamal Agnew to one-year contract

The Atlanta Falcons have signed return specialist Jamal Agnew to a one-year contract. The deal could be worth up to $2.5 million, according to reports. Agnew, who is 29 years old, did not play in any games in 2024. He spent part of the season on the Pittsburgh Steelers' practice squad. Agnew missed time due to a leg injury that affected his 2023 season. Originally drafted in the fifth round in 2017, Agnew has played 82 games in the NFL. He has played for the Detroit Lions and the Jacksonville Jaguars. Notably, he was named an All-Pro returner in 2017 and made the Pro Bowl in 2022. Throughout his career, Agnew has averaged 25.5 yards on kick returns and 10.3 yards on punt returns. He has scored four touchdowns on punt returns and two on kickoffs. Additionally, Agnew has caught 77 passes for 746 yards and five touchdowns, along with rushing for 263 yards and one touchdown on 33 carries.
