Families in Ahmednagar seek justice for murder victims

Families in Shrirampur, Ahmednagar, are calling for justice after two relatives were murdered. They believe the main suspect has strong connections to a senior politician in the area. The victims are Rahul Pimple, aged 29, and his uncle Bharat Kale. Bharat Kale allegedly died during an argument with a neighbor in June 2024. Rahul Pimple was also murdered months later after he supported his uncle. Family members claim they received threats to drop the case against the accused. Anandraj Ambedkar, head of the Republican Sena, spoke at a media event in Mumbai. He urged the government to establish a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to look into the killings. He also called for the resignation of the local minister, Radhakrishna Vikhe-Patil. Rahul Pimple’s sister-in-law, Vaishali, shared their ordeal. She reported that the family received threats for months, especially after Rahul filed a police complaint against Kale’s suspected murder. She claimed that the police are under political pressure and are protecting the main suspect, who is still at large. Others at the event, including leaders from various political groups, echoed the demands for a thorough investigation. They criticized the government for not addressing the violence against marginalized communities, suggesting focus on issues like these, instead of political debates. The families remain determined to seek justice for their loved ones.
