Family seeks answers on son's suicide in Charlotte home

A home with a troubling past is back in the spotlight after two deaths. The recent murder of Alexis Legrande occurred on March 1. Kenneth Reid, 31, has been arrested and charged with her murder. Legrande was shot while visiting the home. This is not the first tragedy connected to this location. Daron Reid, the son of Diana Clinton, was shot and died there on December 4, 2020. His death was ruled a suicide after an investigation by Charlotte Mecklenburg Police. However, his family has always doubted this conclusion. Diana Clinton stated, "My son would never do nothing like that." She described Daron as having a positive outlook and preparing to go back to school. Now, his family is looking for answers. They see similarities between Daron's death and Legrande's murder, both being gunshot cases. Latoya Neely, Daron’s aunt, emphasized the family's pain over his loss, calling it a tragedy that changed their lives. The family is pushing for a reopening of Daron's case as they seek clarity and justice.
