A farmer in Cebu City, Philippines, was arrested after he allegedly attacked another farmer on Monday evening, March 24. The suspect, Juan Arcayan Bordadora, is 37 years old and lives in Sitio Tabok 3, Brgy. Adlaon. He is accused of hacking Adolfo Laurito Jr., a 45-year-old farmer, after a long-standing disagreement between the two. Witnesses reported that Bordadora approached Laurito and hit him multiple times with a sharp weapon. Laurito tried to escape but fell off a cliff, landing under a bamboo tree. After the attack, Bordadora fled into a grassy area. A barangay councilor then informed the police. When officers arrived, they found Laurito unconscious and bleeding heavily. He was rushed to Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center for treatment. Early on Tuesday, police launched a pursuit and arrested Bordadora at Sitio Cobkawa. Bordadora is currently in police custody as the investigation continues. He is expected to face charges of frustrated homicide. Neighbors indicated that the attack was driven by an old grudge against Laurito.
