Farmer leader Dallewal hospitalized in Patiala, demands arise
Senior farmer leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal has been moved to a private hospital in Patiala due to health concerns. He has been in police detention since March 19 and was previously held under secure conditions in Jalandhar. Officials have not explained why he was transferred back to Patiala, but health department sources say he is under medical observation. Farmer union leaders are demanding more information about Dallewal's health. They have claimed that their requests to see him have been denied. One farmer leader highlighted the need for a medical bulletin to clarify Dallewal's condition, expressing frustration over the lack of communication from the government. Dallewal was among hundreds of farmers detained last week as authorities took action against protesters at the Shambhu and Khanauri border points. This protest has been ongoing since February 13 last year, when farmers attempted to march to Delhi to demand better crop prices.
