Police arrested Kamran Qureshi on Thursday. He is the father of Armaghan, the main suspect in the murder of Mustafa Amir. Mustafa Amir was kidnapped and allegedly killed by his friends on January 6 in Karachi. Afterward, the group reportedly hid his body in a car trunk and burned it in Hub, Balochistan. Armaghan had been arrested last month for injuring police officers while trying to escape. His friend, Sheraz, is also in custody. Recently, Armaghan confessed to killing Amir, according to the prosecution. Kamran Qureshi’s arrest is part of a police campaign against drug dealers. Officers acted on a tip-off when they found him at his home in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority. During the arrest, police found 200 grams of crystal methamphetamine and an unlicensed 9MM pistol, along with ammunition. Qureshi is facing charges under drug laws and for possessing illegal weapons. An investigation is ongoing.
