Father shot in Texas over daughter's relationship dispute

A meeting between two sets of parents in Texas ended in violence. The parents were trying to intervene in their teenage children's relationship. The father of a teenage girl sought help from the parents of her boyfriend, stating she was too young to date. The meeting took place on March 17 in Hockley, around 35 miles northwest of Houston. The girl's father, whose name has not been released, asked Luther and Angelica Madison to help keep their son away from his daughter. However, the conversation quickly escalated into a confrontation. Police say that during the argument, Angelica Madison had a handgun in her pocket. She handed it to her husband, Luther, as tensions rose. He then shot the girl's father in the chest and threatened to shoot his wife as well. The injured man was airlifted to a hospital, but his current condition is not known. Luther and Angelica Madison, both 39 years old, were arrested at the scene. They face charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. The couple has since been released on bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 20.
