Federal election candidates announced in northwestern Ontario
Parliament has been dissolved, and Canadians will soon vote for their next federal government. The election is set for April 28, 2025. In northwestern Ontario, not all parties have named their candidates yet. Here are the candidates announced so far for the four major parties in the region. In Thunder Bay-Superior North, Patty Hajdu is the Liberal incumbent. Bob Herman is running for the Conservative Party, and Joy Wakefield is the candidate for the NDP. The Green Party has not yet announced a candidate. For Thunder Bay-Rainy River, Marcus Powlowski is the Liberal incumbent. Yuk-Sem Won is running for the NDP. Both the Conservative and Green parties have not yet listed their candidates. In Kenora-Kiiwetinoong, Eric Melillo is the Conservative incumbent. Tania Cameron is representing the NDP. The Liberal and Green parties have not announced candidates for this riding either. As the election approaches, campaigns will begin to ramp up despite the current challenges facing the country, including a trade war.
