Federal judge dismisses lawsuit against East Cleveland officials
A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit against East Cleveland officials regarding the towing of a campaign van. The van belonged to William Fambrough, who was supporting a challenger to former Mayor Brandon King in the 2021 election. U.S. District Judge Bridget Brennan ruled that officials had properly warned Fambrough multiple times about noise complaints related to the van. The judge concluded that the city acted within its rights in impounding the vehicle. Fambrough claimed that the towing of his van was retaliation for his political activities. However, the judge's decision means the lawsuit will not move forward.
