Fendi celebrates 100 years with taller Baguette bag
Fendi is celebrating its 100-year anniversary with a new version of its famous Baguette bag. This taller version is called the Mamma Baguette. It pays tribute to the brand's heritage while introducing fresh designs. Fendi was founded in 1925 by Adele Casagrande and Edoardo Fendi in Rome. Initially, they sold handbags and fur coats. Their unique style quickly caught the attention of Italian customers. The brand became global after their five daughters joined the business and brought in designer Karl Lagerfeld in 1965. The original Baguette bag was designed in 1997 and became known as an "It" bag. It was created to be worn under the arm, resembling a loaf of French bread. Over the years, it has been made in more than a thousand styles. The new Mamma Baguette is meant to be worn over the shoulder. It retains the craftsmanship of the original, using nappa leather and the classic Selleria stitching. Some intricate bags can take up to 39 hours to complete. This new version also features an equestrian-inspired drawstring and a leather-inlaid FF buckle. It is available in new colors like sage, matcha green, and salmon pink with floral embroidery.
