Filipino activists plan peace concert in West Philippine Sea

Filipino activists are planning a "peace concert" in the South China Sea. The Atin Ito coalition will sail into the disputed waters in May to deliver supplies and promote solidarity. About 100 volunteers will join this mission on May 25. The coalition aims to support Filipino fishermen while also asserting Philippine claims to these waters. This will be the group's third operation, following two previous missions where they supplied troops and local fishermen. Rafaela David, a leader in the coalition, spoke at a news conference. She said their goal is to share a message of peace through music, not conflict. David emphasized the importance of cooperation and solidarity, especially among fishermen in the region. She criticized China's actions in the area, stating they have created tension by making claims and using aggression. The coalition believes that art and community action can help restore peace and unity in the region.
