Another featured film is “The Ugly,” directed by Yeon Sang-ho, which explores dark family secrets as a young man seeks to learn more about his father's past. This follows Yeon's previous successes in the zombie genre and his acclaimed animated works. A big-budget action-thriller titled “High-Speed Train” is also gaining attention. It has a budget of around $4.5 million and features a race against time to defuse a bomb on a train. This film stars popular Taiwanese actors Austin Lin and Vivian Sung. In the animation sector, Toe Yeun is set to release “A Might Adventure,” which follows a grasshopper, a spider, and a butterfly on their journey for self-discovery. The film is a collaboration between Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Malaysia. Lastly, a rural story directed by Kethsvin Chee aims to capture childhood experiences, featuring two lost souls seeking redemption. The film brings together actress/producer Lee Sinje and producer/director Jin Ong, showcasing their talent and creativity.
