Fire at Nippani sugar factory causes significant damage

A fire broke out at the Sri Halasiddhanath Cooperative Sugar Factory in Nippani on Friday. Thankfully, no injuries were reported. The fire started in the boiler around 4 p.m. Firefighters battled the flames for more than four hours. Teams from various locations helped, including Sankeshwar, Chikkodi, Kagal, and Hammidwada in Kolhapur district, Maharashtra. Factory owners estimate the damages could exceed ₹5 crore. Firefighting teams from several sugar mills and local municipalities joined in to control the situation. District Fire and Emergency Services officer Shashidhar Neelgar expressed gratitude to all the volunteers and employees involved in the effort.
