Firefighters responded to an apartment fire in Arlington, Texas, on Wednesday evening. The blaze broke out at the Woodcrest Apartments on College Street just before 6 p.m. When crews arrived, they found heavy smoke coming from the roof of the two-story building. A Wind Advisory was active in North Texas, and strong winds caused the fire to spread rapidly through the attics of eight units. One resident, who has a disability, had difficulty escaping her apartment. Firefighters found her inside and helped her out, but she suffered smoke inhalation. Her condition is not yet known. Thankfully, all other residents were evacuated safely. Investigators are currently looking into what caused the fire.
