Fire in Allentown injures four, including firefighters
A fire broke out early Wednesday morning in a row of homes in Allentown, injuring four people, including two firefighters. The blaze started just after 7:30 a.m. in a three-floor home on North 13th Street. Firefighters quickly responded and rescued a person trapped inside. The fire spread rapidly, prompting officials to call for more help. It took firefighters about two hours to bring the flames under control. During the efforts, two firefighters fell through the floor but have since been released from the hospital. The two civilians injured also received treatment for non-life-threatening injuries. The house where the fire began suffered significant damage, and nearby homes experienced water and smoke damage. At least one of these homes has been declared uninhabitable. Two people have been displaced, and the Red Cross is assisting them. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by city officials. Multiple fire companies assisted the Allentown Fire Department in battling the blaze.
