Firefighters battle brush fire near River Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard, California

A new brush fire broke out in Oxnard, Ventura County, on Monday evening, near the River Ridge Golf Course. The fire started around 7:15 PM and quickly spread, prompting a response from at least 75 firefighters. The fire, which began as a car fire, has burned approximately 5 acres. Northbound traffic on the 101 Freeway has been shut down as crews work to contain the flames.
