Firefighters deploy trains to combat Krasnodar oil depot fire
In southern Russia, authorities are using special trains to fight a large fire at an oil depot. This fire started last Tuesday after a Ukrainian drone attack. The depot is located in the Krasnodar region at a place called Kavkazskaya. Officials reported that four firefighting trains have been brought to the scene. These trains are loaded with water to help extinguish the flames. Firefighters are dealing with a fire affecting one tank, which covers a large area of about 1,250 square meters. They are also cooling down other equipment nearby. Currently, there are 473 firefighters and 189 pieces of firefighting equipment working to control the blaze. An explosion occurred on Friday due to the depressurization of the burning tank, causing burning oil to spread. At that time, the fire had expanded to about 10,000 square meters. Russia's Foreign Ministry stated that the drone attack violated an agreement on a ceasefire for energy sites. This ceasefire was proposed earlier in a conversation between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump. However, it did not lead to a broader truce that the U.S. wanted, which was accepted by Ukraine.
