Firefighters extinguish hotel fire in Easton; no injuries

Firefighters responded to a hotel fire in Easton on Saturday morning. The fire broke out at the Hotel Lafayette on North Fourth Street around 9:30 a.m. By 11:30 a.m., the fire was reported to be under control. Fire crews remained on-site to conduct overhaul operations. Thankfully, there were no injuries reported. Images and videos shared on social media showed smoke coming from a window on the top floor of the hotel. Firefighters used ladder trucks to manage the situation. As a result of the fire, Fourth Street is closed at Pine and Ferry Streets. Fifth and Northampton Streets are also closed.
