FIRs will target industries polluting Haryana's waters
Haryana's development and panchayat minister, Krishan Lal Panwar, announced on Friday that First Information Reports (FIRs) will be filed against owners of industries that discharge chemical waste into rivers and canals. This move aims to protect the region’s water sources from hazardous pollution. Speaking to the media, Panwar emphasized the government's commitment to holding industrial polluters accountable. He stated that if any industrial waste containing harmful chemicals is detected in the state's waterways, the responsible factory owner will face legal action. In his remarks, Panwar criticized former chief minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda. He noted that Hooda has not addressed concerns regarding his own constituency or home district in the state assembly. Panwar claimed that the opposition Congress party is losing support in the state following their defeat in last year's elections, and that Hooda is struggling to accept this loss. Furthermore, Panwar assured residents that there is no power shortage in Haryana. He stated that more than 5,700 villages enjoy 24-hour electricity supply. He mentioned ongoing projects to build additional thermal power plants, which will help meet the growing demand for energy. The minister also announced that payments to junior engineers working under the Haryana Kaushal Rozgar Nigam Limited will be released to the development and panchayat department.
