First mpox vaccine doses arrive in Congo, insufficient supply

The first 100,000 doses of the mpox vaccine arrived in Kinshasa, Congo, three weeks after the WHO declared mpox outbreaks in 12 African countries a global emergency. Another 100,000 doses are expected soon. Authorities estimate 3 million doses are needed to control the outbreak, with only 380,000 promised by Western partners, representing less than 15% of the required amount.
