A fisherman from Peru, Maximo Napa, has been rescued after spending 95 days lost at sea. He originally planned a ten-day trip and packed food for two weeks. However, bad weather caused his boat to drift off course. During his time in the Pacific Ocean, Napa survived by eating birds, sea turtles, and even roaches. In the last 15 days, he had no food and faced extreme starvation. "I did not want to die," he said after being rescued and reunited with his brother in Paita, a city near the Ecuador border. Napa also shared that thinking about his family helped him stay strong. He mentioned his two-month-old granddaughter and said he thought about his mother every day. “I'm thankful to God for giving me a second chance,” he expressed. The Peruvian navy documented his rescue, which took place after 90 days of searching. Napa was found by an Ecuadorian boat called 'Don F' and received immediate medical care. His mother, Elena Castro, spoke with local media about the support from family members. She kept praying for her son's return, while her daughters remained hopeful throughout the ordeal.
