Five arrested for attacking police in Gajapati district
Five people were arrested on Saturday in Gajapati district for attacking police officers. This incident took place in Juba village when police were returning after seizing 30 quintals of ganja, a type of cannabis. The attack involved over 300 villagers and left 26 police officers injured. During further investigations, police discovered that two of the arrested individuals had ganja at their homes. Police also conducted raids in the village and seized a large quantity of the drug. Gajapati Superintendent of Police Jatindra Kumar Panda stated that a significant police presence was sent to the village to apprehend those involved in the attack. Upon seeing the police, many villagers attempted to escape and discarded bags containing ganja. The police are actively searching for others who were part of the attack and are committed to tackling the illegal drug trade in the area.
