Five arrested for murder linked to family rivalry
The Kurnool police have arrested five people in connection with the murder of Kasapogu Sanjanna. The murder took place on March 14 in Shareen Nagar. Sanjanna was 60 years old and the father of a local politician in the Telugu Desam Party (TDP). According to Superintendent of Police (SP) Vikrant Patil, the murder stemmed from a long-standing feud between two families. Sanjanna was attacked after attending a gathering at a religious site. The attackers were led by Vadde Anjaneyulu, described as a rowdy sheeter, and included his three sons and one other individual. Police used technology, including CCTV and technical surveillance, to track the suspects. They identified the movement of the accused and the vehicles they used to escape. The arrested individuals include Vadde Anjaneyulu, 52, and his sons Vadde Shiva Kumar, 20, Vadde Tulasi, 23, and Vadde Revanth, 22, along with a man named Mala Ashok, 30. The police recovered weapons such as sharp knives and bamboo sticks used in the murder. They also found blood-stained clothing and mobile phones belonging to the suspects. The SP has instructed officers to speed up the legal process to provide swift justice to Sanjanna's family.
