Five arrested for stealing motorcycles in Anantapur

The Anantapur police arrested five people on March 25 for stealing motorcycles and scooters. These individuals are linked to three different gangs. Police recovered 18 stolen vehicles, valued at ₹16 lakh. The thefts took place in Anantapur and Kadapa districts. According to Additional Superintendent of Police D. V. Ramanamurthy, the members of these gangs stole to support their habits and lifestyles. One gang was led by Shaik Touheed, also known as Sonu, along with a minor accomplice. They were involved in six vehicle thefts in areas covered by Anantapur I Town and Dharmavaram police. The minor had previously committed two other thefts. Another gang, consisting of N. Nachappagari Ganesh and Noor Mohammed, stole five vehicles in Kadapa and one in Anantapur. V. Jithendra, known as Siddhu, was connected to eight thefts in parking lots across Anantapur III Town, Rural, and Gooty police limits.
