Five young men have been sentenced to prison for stealing cars worth nearly £1 million. The group, consisting of individuals aged 18 to 23, was involved in a string of thefts in Coventry. They stole luxury vehicles, motorcycles, and motorhomes over the course of 47 different crimes. The investigation was significantly aided by their own social media activity. Police found videos and messages where the gang members boasted about their actions. This online evidence helped authorities identify the thieves and link them to the crimes. One member, Tyrone Henn, even complained in messages about his low profits from the thefts. All five were arrested last year. Most pleaded guilty during their trial, while some changed their pleas from not guilty. Henn received the longest sentence, totaling 10 years and six months, in addition to a driving ban. The others received similar sentences and driving bans, ranging from three years to over ten years. Police described the gang as "among the most wanted offenders in Coventry." Chief Superintendent Paul Drover emphasized the serious impact of their crimes on victims, both financially and emotionally. Only 24 of the stolen vehicles have been recovered so far.
