Five men charged with dangerous driving, causing injuries
Five men will be charged in court on March 26 for dangerous driving that led to injuries. The incidents took place in Singapore and involved drivers failing to stop at red lights. The ages of the men range from 43 to 73 years old. Their offenses happened between August 28, 2024, and January 17, 2025. One notable case involves a 73-year-old man who did not stop at a red light and crashed into another car in August 2024. This accident injured the other driver. As a repeat offender, he could face a fine of up to $20,000 and a prison sentence of up to four years. Another incident involved a 44-year-old lorry driver who hit a motorcycle after running a red light in August 2024. The motorcyclist suffered serious injuries, including a fractured wrist. The lorry driver faces a potential jail term of one to five years for dangerous driving causing grievous hurt. In a separate case on January 17, 2025, a 57-year-old man ran a red light and crashed into another vehicle, injuring four people. This suspect could be fined up to $10,000 and imprisoned for up to two years if convicted. The other two drivers in the remaining incidents will also be charged with dangerous driving causing hurt. If convicted, they could lose their driving privileges for all vehicle types.
