Five more arrested in Ganjam cattle smuggling ring
Bhanjanagar police arrested five more individuals in a cattle smuggling operation, bringing the total arrests to six. The arrests occurred near Daha Road in Ganjam district, where 58 animals were rescued. The accused, aged 19 to 52, were caught transporting cattle illegally. They could not provide ownership documents, raising suspicions about their intent to smuggle the animals to other states. In the past two days, police have rescued a total of 128 cattle. After their rescue, veterinary doctors checked the animals' health before transferring them to a charitable trust for care.
