Five railway stations in Rajasthan to be renovated
Renovations at five railway stations in the North Western Railway (NWR) are expected to finish by the end of March. Captain Shashi Kiran, the chief public relations officer for NWR, announced the updates on this project. The stations undergoing renovation include Gogamedi, Mandi Dabwali, Deshnok, Rajgarh, and Fatehpur Shekhawati. Passengers will benefit from new and improved facilities. Upgrades will include better railway over-bridges, display boards, and coach position displays. Currently, 85 railway stations in Rajasthan are being remodeled. Notably, Jaisalmer and Gandhi Nagar stations will also see new infrastructure completed by July. These projects are part of the Amrit stations scheme by Indian Railways. Kiran mentioned that the upgraded stations will feature enhanced buildings, better service areas, and facilities such as parking, lighting, lifts, and escalators. Other improvements will include 12-meter-wide foot over bridges, coach guidance boards, train display boards, public address systems, platform shelters, and high-level platforms.
