Five siblings arrested for Chatra man's murder
Five siblings have been arrested for the murder of Ankit Kumar Gupta in Chatra. Police say that three brothers and two cousins are responsible for the crime. The arrests took place on Monday. Ankit, who was 25 years old, was attacked with sticks and knives on March 20. The incident happened near Pathaldas temple on Chatra Main Road. He was taken to Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences in Ranchi but died the next day. According to Assistant Superintendent of Police Ritvik Srivastava, the attack was planned as revenge. Sushant Kumar is identified as the mastermind of the murder. He claimed that Ankit and others had assaulted him during a festival when he was meeting a girl. The police formed a special investigation team to look into the case. The five siblings tried to escape but were arrested at different locations. Authorities have also recovered the weapons used in the attack.
