Five-year-old girl dies in Dera Bassi road accident

A five-year-old girl died in a road accident in Dera Bassi on Wednesday. The victim, Aaradhya Bansal, was returning home from school with her grandfather, Upesh Bansal, on a scooter. The accident occurred on the Chandigarh-Ambala national highway near a hotel. As they were overtaking a stationary truck, their scooter was struck from behind by a speeding canter. Aaradhya was trapped between the two heavy vehicles and died at the scene. Her grandfather suffered only minor injuries. The driver of the canter fled the scene, leaving the vehicle behind. Police have seized the canter and launched a search for the driver. Aaradhya's parents run a private school in Dera Bassi.
