Flight to Charlotte diverted for maintenance issue in Virginia
An American Eagle flight heading to Charlotte made an emergency landing in Richmond, Virginia, on Saturday. The flight, operated by Piedmont Airlines, left Newport News at 11:50 a.m. and landed in Richmond around 1 p.m. The diversion was due to a possible maintenance issue. The plane, an Embraer E145, was taken out of service for inspection after landing safely. There were three crew members and 47 passengers on board, with no injuries reported.
