Over 335,000 people have been displaced, with many seeking shelter in public buildings. The storm is now moving toward India, where officials warn it could strengthen into a cyclone. It is expected to reach Tamil Nadu and Puducherry on Saturday, bringing winds of up to 70 kilometers per hour. In Sri Lanka, nearly 100 homes were destroyed and about 1,700 were damaged. The government has deployed over 2,700 military personnel for relief efforts.
