Florida man arrested for attempted murder in Georgia
A man from Florida, Wesley Ramone Knight, was arrested in Hall County for attempted murder. Authorities had been looking for him due to a warrant for second-degree murder related to a gun incident in Florida. On Wednesday morning, Hall County deputies tried to stop Knight's car, a 2007 Audi A4. He was driving recklessly, crossing a double-yellow line and running through a stop sign, which prompted deputies to chase him. During the chase, Knight drove through a parking lot and then jumped out of his car, running toward Harrison Square Apartments. Other officers quickly caught him. His car rolled into a parked vehicle during the incident, which prompted an investigation by the Georgia State Patrol. In addition to the attempted murder charge from Florida, Knight now faces several charges in Georgia. These include reckless conduct, fleeing law enforcement, reckless driving, and failing to stop at a stop sign. Knight gave a Gainesville, Georgia address when booked. He is currently held in Hall County Jail.
