"Forbidden Fruits" horror film features witches and sisterhood

A new horror film called Forbidden Fruits is coming soon. It features Victoria Pedretti from The Haunting of Hill House and Lili Reinhart from Riverdale. The movie combines themes from The Craft and Mallrats. Forbidden Fruits is based on a play by Lily Houghton. The story follows three feminist witches named Apple, Cherry, and Fig. They work at a shop called Free Eden and perform spells in the basement. However, their group dynamics change when a new girl named Pumpkin questions their bond. This leads to internal struggles that could have deadly consequences. The cast also includes Alexandra Shipp, Lola Tung, and Emma Chamberlain. Meredith Alloway is directing the film, which she co-wrote with Houghton. Diablo Cody, known for the film Jennifer's Body, is among the producers. IFC Films and Shudder, which is part of AMC Networks, have secured distribution rights for the film in the US and Canada. Alloway expressed her gratitude for working with IFC Films, noting their support and encouragement for filmmakers. Scott Shooman from AMC Networks shared excitement about the project. He praised the script and highlighted the impressive cast, anticipating that Forbidden Fruits will be a must-see film in 2026.
