Forecasters expect Caribbean disturbance to become tropical depression by Tuesday

Forecasters are monitoring two weather disturbances. One in the Caribbean Sea is likely to become a tropical depression by Tuesday, with an 80% chance of formation in the next two days, according to the National Hurricane Center. This disturbance is expected to bring heavy rain to areas including Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba. It is moving northward to northwestward over the central and western Caribbean Sea. The second disturbance, located east of the southeastern Bahamas, has a low chance of development at 10%. It may bring rain to the northern Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico, and eastern Cuba but is expected to be overtaken by the first disturbance.
