Forecasters track two weather disturbances with one likely to strengthen in the Caribbean
A disturbance in the Caribbean Sea is likely to strengthen into a tropical depression by Tuesday, with an 80% chance of formation in the next two days and 90% in the next week. Heavy rain is expected in the western Caribbean. Another disturbance in the Atlantic has a low chance of development, estimated at 10%. It is moving westward toward the southeastern Bahamas and eastern Cuba, with potential heavy rain in those areas and parts of the northern Leeward Islands. The National Hurricane Center warns that regardless of development, heavy rains could impact Jamaica, Haiti, the Dominican Republic, and Cuba over the next few days.
