Forex manager steals ₹43L from Lucknow travel agency

In Lucknow, a forex manager at a travel agency is accused of stealing nearly ₹44 lakh from the company. The incident took place at Alhind Tour and Travels in the Lalbagh area. The manager, identified as Arjun Kumar Verma from Faizabad, disappeared on February 13. He left the office during the day, and his phone was later found turned off. Arjun was responsible for handling foreign currency transactions and had access to the agency's safety locker. When the staff checked the locker on February 22, they discovered only ₹7,753 inside. This was a significant difference from the recorded amount of ₹44.02 lakh. Before his disappearance, Arjun reported having ₹2.75 lakh in Indian currency and ₹41.26 lakh in foreign currency in the locker. CCTV footage has allegedly confirmed that Arjun was involved in the theft. Following a complaint from branch manager Amanullah Siddiqui, the Hazratganj police have filed a case and began their investigation.
