Former Australia cricketer Ian Redpath dies at 83
Former Australian cricketer Ian Redpath has died at the age of 83. He played 66 Tests and five One Day Internationals from 1964 to 1976, scoring over 3,200 runs in Tests, with a highest score of 171. Redpath made his Test debut against South Africa and scored his first century against the West Indies in 1969. He was the last Australian cricketer to play as an amateur and was inducted into the Cricket Australia Hall of Fame in January 2023. In 2024, the Geelong Cricket Club honored him by renaming their scoreboard. Cricket Australia expressed condolences, highlighting Redpath's contributions to the sport and his legacy in Australian cricket.
