Former barangay chairman killed in Calapan City shooting at LTO checkpoint

A former barangay chairman was shot and killed at a Land Transportation Office (LTO) checkpoint in Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro. The incident occurred when a motorcycle rider opened fire after being stopped for not having proper documents. The shooting injured two others, including LTO Assistant Chief Gerardo Garcia. The suspect fled the scene, and police are conducting a manhunt. Forensic teams recovered multiple cartridge cases from the site.
