Former employee claims ex-Premier League owner owes her wages
A former employee of Terry Ramsden, a well-known millionaire and ex-Premier League owner, claims her life has been devastated due to unpaid wages. Scarlet Hewett, 29, says she is now facing homelessness and is in debt after working for Ramsden's company, SBS Group Ltd, for about a year. Scarlet worked in an administrative role for the company, where Ramsden is listed as a director. She successfully took the firm to court for £6,500 in unpaid wages. However, she has not received any payment since the tribunal ruling in June 2023. Ramsden is currently believed to be living in Dubai. She described her experience as chaotic and stressful, stating that the job was not what she expected. She was hired primarily to answer phones, which hardly ever rang. After several months without pay, Scarlet decided to take legal action. She represented herself in court, where the company failed to appear. Scarlet says she has faced severe financial anxiety and has been diagnosed with fibromyalgia, a painful condition likely caused by stress. She fears losing her rented accommodation and has had to attend another court hearing to prevent eviction. Ramsden was once a prominent figure in Britain, known for his success in horse racing and for owning stakes in football clubs. However, his financial troubles over the years have been well-documented, leading to his bankruptcy and time in prison. Scarlet described Ramsden's behavior as “disgusting” and is calling for him to be held accountable for his actions. She feels his actions have left her struggling to rebuild her life. Attempts to contact Ramsden for a response have been unsuccessful.
