Former friend charged in 2016 Mount Laurel murder

Investigators have arrested a man in connection with a shooting that took place nearly nine years ago in Willingboro, New Jersey. The suspect, Ronny Paden, is accused of killing 31-year-old Colby Rodgers in 2016. Rodgers was shot multiple times while sitting in a parked car in Mount Laurel. This tragic event occurred in the early hours of April 15, 2016, and Rodgers was pronounced dead at the scene. Officials from the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office revealed that Paden, who is currently in prison for unrelated charges, was a former friend of the victim. They had a falling out before the shooting. Paden has now been charged with murder, along with two additional weapons-related offenses. Authorities believe Paden was identified as the shooter after an investigation into the case.
