Former Ohio humane agent sentenced for animal cruelty
Steffen Baldwin, the former chief humane agent for the Union County Humane Society, was sentenced to 15 and a half years in prison for bribery and animal cruelty. He was convicted in connection with the deaths of 18 dogs. Baldwin faced 53 charges, including several related to animal abuse. His crimes date back several years, with evidence accumulating since a police report was filed in June 2017. The case gained attention after Baldwin misled a couple about their dog, Remington, claiming he had to euthanize him due to injuries. Investigators found discrepancies in Baldwin's account, leading to his conviction.
