Former Olympian Len Lilyholm and wife killed in Iowa car crash

Len Lilyholm, an 83-year-old former Olympic hockey player, died in a head-on car crash in northern Iowa on Saturday. His wife, Carol Lilyholm, 82, and the other driver, Bradley Vonnahme, also died in the collision. The accident occurred on I-35 when Lilyholm's car crossed the median and collided with Vonnahme's vehicle. Three others, including a 6-year-old, were injured and taken to a hospital. Lilyholm played for the University of Minnesota and was part of the 1968 U.S. Olympic team. He later worked in architecture, contributing to the design of the St. Paul Civic Center.
