Former P.E.I. substitute teacher charged with making child pornography

A former substitute teacher from Cornwall, P.E.I., Matthew Alan Craswell, has been arrested again and now faces a new charge of making child pornography. This charge is linked to a historical incident unrelated to his teaching job. Craswell, 39, was initially arrested on August 8 for child pornography but was released. He was arrested again after police received new information about an incident from April 2024, while he was still employed as a substitute teacher. In addition to the new charge, Craswell faces multiple counts, including sexual exploitation and possession of child pornography. He is currently in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
