theguardian.com

Richard Burrows, 80, has been convicted of 97 child sex offences after nearly 30 years on the run in Thailand. He abused boys from the late 1960s to the mid-1990s while working as a school housemaster and scout leader. Burrows fled to Thailand in 1997 before facing court. He was arrested in March 2023 upon returning to the UK. He admitted to 43 charges but denied others, ultimately being found guilty of 54 counts, including indecency and assault. Burrows lived under a false identity in Thailand and expressed no remorse for his actions. He will be sentenced on April 7, 2025. Four of his victims have since died without seeing justice served.
