Former Sunshine Coast radio host Peter Lang sentenced to six months for child sex offences

Former Sunshine Coast radio host Peter Lang has been sentenced to six months in prison for historical child sex offences against a 13-year-old girl in 1988. He was found guilty of multiple counts of unlawful carnal knowledge and indecent treatment. Lang, 66, was convicted earlier this year and pleaded guilty to additional charges. The offences occurred when he was a well-known figure in the community. The victim reported the abuse to police in 2021 after being inspired by a documentary on survivors. Judge Glen Cash emphasized the importance of protecting children from exploitation. Lang's sentence includes 42 days already served, making him eligible for parole in April 2025.
